INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is pleased to announce that Alicia Russo-Murrell has been recognized by the NIAAA as a Certified Athletic Administrator.
To earn this distinction, Alicia Russo-Murrell has demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience, and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.
Alicia Russo-Murrell is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.
Royal ISD Assistant Athletic Coordinator Russo-Murrell has been on the team at Royal for 9 years. She was named the 2023 Royal High School Teacher of the Year and has received the OnRamps Instructor Spotlight twice. When asked about her "why", Coach Russo-Murrell stated, "I do it because watching kids grow and blossom is a privilege and a gift."
